Denton Shed Pinot Noir 2023
Winemaker Kirilly Gordon sources fruit from the cooler northeastern slope of Denton View Hill, mainly from Block 6 near the winery, with some from the Close Planted block at the hilltop. The wine is wild yeast fermented in open pots with gentle plunging for 10 days and pumped over twice daily, then held on skins for 2 weeks before pressing to 40% old French oak and 60% stainless steel tanks for 9 months. Bottled unfiltered and unfined, this Pinot predominantly features the MV6 clone with some Pommard and 115 clones. The 2023 vintage, marked by excellent vineyard management and a favourable growing season, offers typical freshness, brightness, savoury notes, structure, and length.
