Sordo Barolo Rocche di Castiglione Riserva 2008 1.5L Magnum
Established by Giuseppe Sordo at the beginning of the twentieth century, Sordo makes eight Barolo "crus." The winery explains its history: "The turning point came with the arrival of Giovanni Sordo, Giuseppe’s son, who was armed with both intuition and ability in choosing vineyards. From the 1950s on, he acquired ideally-suited vineyards, called ‘surì’ in Piedmontese, from which to make wines of great quality and prestige." This 2008 release is 100% Nebbiolo sourced from 50-year-old south east facing vineyards in the Castiglione Falletto municipality, aged for 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
