This complex Chardonnay from Novum comes off a section of an old (for NZ) vineyard in the Wairau Valley sub-region of Marlborough. It's layered, slightly creamy style builds from front to back. Look for hints of oatmeal and spice, co-existing with lemon zest and grapefruit flavours. There's a savoury bite to the acidity, helping build the impressive palate to a lovely, lingering finale.
