Dubbed by Nick Stock & James Suckling as one of six "First Growth" Pinot Noir producers in New Zealand, Ata Rangi is a shining light of consistency and lineage for the Martinborough region. 2020 yielded a particularly spectacular release for Ata Rangi, being awarded the New Zealand "Wine of the Year" by James Suckling.
A beautiful nose of sliced strawberries, crushed cherries, violets, grated nutmeg and a hint of white pepper. Some hibiscus, too. Supremely vibrant and perfumed with fine tannins that run the length of the medium-bodied palate. Textural. Ground spice and fresh fruit are intertwined, providing wonderful depth and complexity.
